Losties of a Lesser God

It's getting down to the wire. Next Sunday it all ends. And by "all", I mean "happiness". All my happiness ends when Lost is over. So to celebrate the remaining 5 days of glee, here's a Lostie look-a-like. That power-nerd Zoe and her deaf counterpart, Marlee Matlin. Notice the dark versus light thing they got going on. I'm just sayin'... thee-eeeme!

Hopefully we'll get to see more of Zoe and Whitmore's merry band of mercenaries tonight. And unlike the rest of the nerdosphere, I highly enjoyed the Mother-MIB-Jacob episode, "Across the Sea". Now I'm not exactly saying it's because I have a future crush on the young MIB but I kinda am. What?! He's fifteen! Or "future-twenty", as I like to call him.

Lost and Found

In the words of Carole King, "now and forever" Lost will be my favourite show - stamped it, no erasies. I am currently stockpiling happy thoughts to combat the ineveitable depression when it's all over. Aside from the amazing story lines and foxy actors (the scene with Kate and Sawyer in the Polar Bear cage makes From Here to Eternity look positively Amish), I love Lostbecause the show has given a helping hand to manys a (enjoy the pun) lost actor. But definitely my fave so far has been Chip from Kate & Allie. When I saw his pudgy little face running out of the jungle, my heart melted. Three cheers for gainful employment!

Other notable cameos (and before you get your Dharma panties in a twist, I know many of these actors have worked since their more popular shows):

1) William Sanderson - From "Hi I'm Larry, this is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl" fame.
2) Jeff Fahey - Not just another pretty Lawnmower Man.
3) Sheila Kelley - the hearing man's Marlee Matlin and Lost's version of Tina Fey.
4) Fisher Stevens - I bet Fisher thought the world had forgotten him (no doubt Michelle Pfeiffer wishes she could forget her first marriage to him).
5) Karen Allen - no, she hasn't shown up yet, but if Damon Lindelof has any heart, he'll cast the former Indiana Jones hottie in the series finale.
6) But the greatest one of all, is of course, Matthew "Is there life after Party of Five?" Fox.

Lost in Pastorization

Ever wonder what would happen if Matthew Fox and Noah Wyle had a baby?

They'd get crazy Pastor Steve who prays for the death of President Obama. Really Steve? Because your goofy face suggests you're praying for someone to silly string the White House or put plastic wrap over Barack's toilet seat. But kill him? Nah. Not with those "okay, fine, it was me who just farted" eyes.
=

Here's a quote from Pastor Steve: "When I go to bed tonight, that's what I'm going to pray. And you say, 'Are you just saying that?' No. When I go to bed tonight, Steven L. Anderson is going to pray for Barack Obama to die and go to hell." I'm glad he included his middle initial in case God accidentally answered Steven P. Anderson's prayers and made it rain candy.

Re-Cast: The Sopranos - Take 2

Here are some more Sopranoriffic re-casts...

Richie Aprile: Remember Richie? The psychopath who liked to hit people with cars and makeout with Janice while pointing a gun at her head (which I really can't blame him for)?Anyhoo, Richie also looks a whole lot like Schneider the Handyman from One Day at a Time

Big Pussy Bonpensiero: Big Pussy and Big Boss from the 80s cartoon C.O.P.S. are twins. Also, Big Boss is strangling a cat in this picture which is kinda timely...

Janice Soprano: Oh Janice, you and your terrible taste in men have so much in common with Hurley and his fatso dumb-dumb-ness.

Where in the world is Baitullah Mehsud?

Everyone's wondering whether Baitullah Mehsud (leader of the Pakistan Taliban) is dead or alive.

But I'm pretty sure he's stuck on the Lost island using the alias "Hurley" and making waffles for the Dharma Initiative.

Party of Two

This next post dates backs to the Face Detectives' days as a couple of sassy Montreal students (okay, maybe we weren't so sassy). Face #1 is quite obviously Matthew Fox, at the time Charlie Salinger from PO5 reruns, and now the fantastic Dr. Jack from Lost...

And Man #2 is, of course, Matthew Fox wearing a ridiculous wig he borrowed from a brunette Little Orphan Annie, right? Wrong! Man 2 is in fact Ethan Zohn, aka the winner of Survivor, Season 3. At this point Zohn has faded into the abyss of obscure pop cultural relics past, but given the insane success of Lost, we highly suggest a side career standing in for Jack at nerdy sci-fi conventions.
